Making up for lost time, one more time.

They had lazed about for most of the day, mostly just because they could, and even when one or the other of them got up to use the bathroom or retrieve a book, they always came right back, as if somehow that bed held all the secrets of the universe. Come afternoon, Eames went to get his laptop, doing some research to find a restaurant for dinner, coming up with a few nearby and just deciding by what was closest, since he figured the walk would do them both good.
He even made a reservation, just to make sure they'd have a seat, even though as far as he could tell they were wide open as far as space.

"Are you ready, Arthur?" He called back towards the bedroom from where he was perched on the couch, having settled there after he'd gotten dressed, waiting for the other man to finish his shower, though the water had been off for a while.

He grinned then, "Delicious, actually, though apparently not as distracting as yours is." Distracting for Eames, that was. He went back to taking small bites, just savoring it as he was prone to doing, still watching Arthur out of the corner of his eye.

An eyebrow arched at that, "Distracting?" His own fork poised above his plate.

He just nodded at that, smiling faintly, "Mm, that is what I said." He gave a quick lick to his own fork, catching the last few crumbs off the back of it, brow arching as if this were some sort of demonstration.

A small - but not innocent - smile, "Hmm." And then Arthur went back to eating, licking his fork far more slowly than he needed to (and slightly more suggestively).

Eames just laughed again, low and rolling and almost lost under the background noise. Really now that he knew Arthur was doing it on purpose it shouldn't have had the same effect on him, but it did, and there was no denying it.

Arthur knew that was the case and so, with that same, not-so-innocent smile, "Would you like to try some? It's really good."

He just shook his head, mostly at that smile, laughing again, "No, but thank you, Arthur." His voice had gone to a murmur, an amused rumble, it was the tone that usually preceeded a pouncing, which was what he was holding off from for the moment since they were still in public.

Arthur remembered that tone. And what usually ensued as a result. "Suit yourself."

He went back to finishing off his cake. He knew that as long as they were in public, Eames wouldn't act on that look he was giving Arthur. But that didn't mean Arthur would ease up in his teasing...

And Eames had hardly expected him to, because really that was half the fun of things like this. His own smile drifted into something a little more predatory as he finished his own dinner, sighing heavily, full and content and feeling better than he had in ... well, quite some time, really.

Arthur saw that smile and had to resist the urge to squirm in his seat. If only slightly. He did have fun teasing Eames - he always did whenever he had done it during their year together.

After he finished his cake, he sat back in his own seat, giving a little sigh at how good he felt. Still with the small smile, he brushed a leg against one of Eames' legs underneath the table. "That was good."

He nudged back, just because he could, brow arching, "So, when we've paid here, do you think you'll survive a walk back? Or should we call a cab?" He was actually feeling like a walk, if Arthur was up to it.

Arthur nudged back as well, "Think I can handle that."

"Wonderful." Was the reply, unfolding from his seat and heading to the front counter to pay.

He grinned once they were outside again, "Might have to come back here before we move on, what do you think?"

Arthur nearly grinned himself, "If only for the cake alone, I vote 'yes'."

"That is rather what I was implying." He said, smiling again. He made it a point to bump his shoulder against Arthur's as often as he could without being completely obvious.

"Well, good." Arthur actually returned the nudges, nearly pushing Eames off his feet at one point and laughing because of it (while apologizing in between breaths for almost knocking him into a lamppost).

To anyone else on the streets, they looked like two people, two friends (possibly something more if anyone wanted to look more closely), that where riding a bit of an after-dinner high. Not drunk, just a little buzzed.

He laughed at it as well once he'd recovered, shaking his head and slinging an arm around Arthur's shoulders just to keep them both out of trouble, at least for the moment, and in the bit of darkness between two streetlamps he turned to press a quick kiss to Arthur's temple, humming tunelessly as he started walking again.

Arthur wasn't the one who needed to be kept out of trouble as much as Eames needed to stop provoking him. At least that was his excuse.

Otherwise, it felt nice to be this close to Eames; Arthur was too relaxed to care if people saw. He even wrapped his arm around Eames' waist.

The fact that Arthur didn't pull away or smack him just made Eames smile all over, holding the door to the hotel once they arrived, humming again as he strode across the lobby, thumbing the button for the elevator.

Arthur couldn't help but feel good about being able to do that, make Eames smile like that.

Arthur didn't pull away until they were in the elevator, picking one side of the elevator and grabbing the gold railing with both hands, his back pressed to the wall, his hips slightly foreword.

Eames sighed at that position, shaking his head, "You're trying to kill me, aren't you?"

Smiling that same not-so-innocent smile, "Maybe."

"Although, as you yourself pointed out once, there are plenty of other ways I could accomplish that."

"Well, that's still true." He said with a nod, but his own smile had returned, the look in his eyes was predatory once more, "Though if you're going to try I'd appreciate fair warning first."

Arthur just kept smiling, looking down and twisting his hips slightly.

He just shook his head, smiling again and giving Arthur's arm a nudge when the elevator dinged, doors sliding open.

He actually managed to make it all the way into their room before he snaked an arm around Arthur's waist, laying claim to his mouth and half-expecting to be slugged for it.
